saw my friend in the hosp. today... she did have laproscopic, but as i said, something went wrong... they have her on a morphine drip as she's in terrible pain... what she and her husband told us today was that when the dr. went in with the camera, he couldn't even see her gallbladder as there was so much infection... he said he had to insert a bag to collect the pieces of the gallbladder... perhaps her's ruptured after the sonogram but before the surgery? whatever was in the gallbladder spilled into her i would suppose, and the dr. said it took him quite a while to clean the infection out of her, yet he never said to them that there was spilled bile, and i haven't suggested it to them either as i'm not sure that bile is in the gallbladder, i just assume so... if someone knows for sure, please let me know... the drain is in her right side, but only bloody water is filling it.... she wasn't feeling well at all, and was very sick this morning, so i don't see her going home any time soon... also, asked them if they knew what the adhesions on the liver were, but neither of them knew either... do they do a biopsy on them when they're removed? i don't know if this could have been avoided or not, but it's sure a big mess now... i will keep you posted as to her recovery
