Re: Too much minerals=leg cramps?
What side are the cramps on? It is usually an imbalance between calcium and magnesium, but it could also be from throwing off your zinc and potassium. Right-sided cramps usually indicate an issue with your mag or pot, while left-sided cramps tend to be related to calcium, moreso than zinc. But, of course, the level of zinc will affect the balance with potassium. Too much calcium can reduce your zinc which could raise your potassium causing a cramp.
You really need to check out acu-cell.com to help you work your way thru the mineral balances. But definitely back up on the extra supplements. Calcium is critical, but you really don't need as much as you think if you are not consuming a lot of calcium-antagonists. The body is pretty proficient at keeping things balanced once you have rebuilt your stores. Its excess proteins, excess phosphorus(sodas & carbonated waters, etc), malabsorption issues, as well as, acidic fruits/juices(oranges, tomatoes, etc) that really deplete your calcium stores. If you are eating as balanced as you sound, I wouldn't think you are dumping much calcium, so slow down and just enjoy your food.
