Re: a point to ponder.. FOCUSING with ONE EYE on GROG.
Grog, thank you so much! I'm so thankful that so many people enjoy and help themselves in the presence of AA. But, first time I walked into an AA meeting, they told me my eyes were too bright and I couldn't be an alchoholic. 10 years later when I had the courage to go back, (mmhmm, yep, I was worse by then) I was told that there is nothing that helps cravings but meetings and practicing the Big Book. A rellie of mine is a nutritionist to NASA Astronauts. She helps them with heaps of health problems. If learning about food, nutrition, even body positions (we release hormones through exercise) can help Astros, then why can't there be help for "alcoholics" through nutrition? There's even more to the world of knowledge besides AA, though I'm thrilled that it certainly helps many.
I think, when we're READY to absorb That Moment of Clarity, which for me came whilst I read one of your posts, Grog, it will happen. (I had one eye open at that time -- so the screen would stay in focus.) I'm happy for anyone who improves their Focus. (Sometimes it just comes with a little help from their friends)
Nutrition really helps me, now. Personally I juice fruits and vegies with a juicer each time I want a alcholic drink. It helps me so much. The craving stops plenty long enough to shop for some healthy food, and to get a few self-esteem enhancing jobs done around either my house, my workplace, or my soul.
So, New Friend-Grog. Thank you. I somehow sense you won't take the credit for my Moment of Clarity, but thank you for the light you were able to shine.
Tazzie :-)
