many alcoholic suffer from denial... and are absolutly blinded to the fact that they have a problem... everyone around them knows that they are alcoholic... but they themselves are is such deep denial that they are unable to see it... it's really quite pitiful...

no one can save you from your "self"...

AA only works for those that are desperate enough to reach out for help... even though one may see many miracles of recovery in AA... that is not say that it is a miracle program... in fact if you really must know... AA is a "spiritual program"... it helps one to deflate ones ego... to make restitutions for harms done...
it helps one to discover the real "SELF"...

my father stopped drinking on his own... he did not touch a drop of alcohol for the last 10 years of his life... i wish he could found AA... not drinking is merely the beginning... the discovery of recovery is something that shouldn't be missed... to know a God of your own understanding...to know peace... happiness... joy... serenity... love... compassion... to know freedom from the bondage of "ego"... from the slavery of "fear"... to have friends all over the world... to watch others recover... to hear their laughter... i wish all could experience life as i have experienced it since being introduced to AA...

ahhh... but most won't have it... oh well...

"it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood"...

lol...
;-)
