Re: Surprising result
Dear Asardar,
I don't recommend the cheapest brand
of anything, especially nutritional
supplements. There's no telling what's in those tablets.
Go to your health food store and
invest in a trusted brand of vitamin
C. The clerks can point you to one.
You can buy 1000 mg tablets, or you
can get (if they stock it) sodium
ascorbate crystals. A lot of us on
this forum, including me, use the
crystals. You just mix it in juice.
Sodium ascorbate keeps your digestive system from becoming acidic.
There are a number of good sources
of sodium ascorbate crystals. I like
the product (#50) made by Bronson
vitamins. I've been using it with
good results for a long, long time.
I suggest you start over with good
vitamin C. Don't be in a hurry. Begin with 2,000 mg a day and work
you way up slowly. I've never heard
of increased normal BMs, resulting
from large doses of C. You don't
need 5 BMs a day unless you're eating lots of food continuously.
Some other factor is in play.
How much do you weigh? If it's 130
lbs, then your normal mega-dose might be around 13 grams. Or it might be 6 grams. We are all different. Personally, I suspect
that at least some women are able
to synthesize their own
vitamin C in their livers. That might be why you gals outlive us males by an average of 6 years.
But that's just a hunch; just a
tingle of intution.
My point is that you shouldn't feel
disappointed if you reach bowel
tolerance at, say, 5 grams, when
you expected to hit it near 17 grams. Listen to your body, and
do what it says. The flip-side of
that maxim is that you should talk
to your body, so that it will know
what you want from it. Begin saying
some affirmations: instructions for
your body, mind, and soul.
Keep us posted on your quest.
Blessings,
