Re: 100 year-old man shares vitamin c health wisdom

MH, what a hogwash!
Yet another balooney assault on ascorbic acid. What you have just told is nonsence! Ascorbic acid is acid and it is harmful for our bodies because it's acid. It seems like a lecture to a 7- year old kid, not to us, conscious, self respecting individuals.
This notion is disguisting I even can't stand this. Our bodies make all sorts of acid for gazillion different reasons and we are still alive. How about let's say retinoic acid? or many many other precious acid substances that we need.

Or how about acetone? Yes that same terrible acetone that our bodies produce in minute quantities for specific purposes.

Guess what- what does liver of a moose produce?- it is not acerola or ornage juice- it is pure ascorbic acid! And yes, native indians went straight for adrenals after animals were killed; not for meat, but for adrenals. Guess why? because of ascorbic acid in the adrenals which are storage angars for the acid. They new that this was vital for them.

If you dond believe, go, take a big kitchen knife from mr. Popeil and kill a zebra for example, take out adrenals and put them under a microscope.

Don't scare off people anymore. Sure, there are many cofactors for ascorbic acid in fresh orange, but the main substance is ascorbic acid, not other bonuses. What would bonuses be worth if there were no ascorbic acid? Take grapefruit, take out ascorbic acid and you can cry out loud imagining you still got vitamin C. Respect for you John Barron, but you are also dead wrong here too.

Just get all vitamin C that you can get from fruits and veggies and let sodium ascorbate finish the job. Enough barking at ascornic acid!
