Re: Herpes in a marriage & a couple questions!
From what I've learned in the last 2 weeks here...eat (herpes fighting foods) and live right as that is the best way to beat the virus and keep it in check. My doctor said all viruses are opportunistic...so when you are at your lowest point (health wise) the virus attacks and you get an outbreak.
Here is a good diet and nutrition list website for people with herpes.

There are herpes fighting foods(like cheese, chicken, potatos) that are high in lysine (essential amino acids) that help the body with tissue repair.
If you have a weak immune system it makes it worse when living an unhealthy lifestyle (smoking, drinking, staying up late, etc). Regular exercise, good diet (with lysine foods), good sleep, loose cool fitting clothing and less stress all contribute to reducing your outbreaks. Stay away from foods that are high in Arginine (chocolate, nuts, caffeine). Every person is different though so be aware of that. What might work for one person may not work for another. Try different things until you find something that works. Report here regularly and tell us about it.
Don't count on pills to help as its just masks it. #48313 said it just makes your body organs work harder. Watch out for people who try to sell you a "cure".
