Re: Freaking Out!! Has anyone else gotten herpes II on legs or

What does the outbreak look like? If it's a group of almost clear bubbles in a deeply red patch of skin, with clear delineation between the red area/bubbles, and normal skin, then it might be Herpes Zoster, otherwise known as Shingles, which is a lovely little present having had Chicken Pox in the past leaves us. If so, they take awhile to die down and disappear, but are said to never reappear where they've once appeared. They can take a LONG time to die away, but they will.
As for the person who said check for AIDS, you were correct in my thinking to have dismissed that. AIDS does not cause any rashes as AIDS is not a disease, but a Syndrome, and no one is truly sure what causes it as there is Medical AIDS (caused by HIV positive people taking AIDS drugs which destroy their immune systems better than HIV (if it exists) ever could. There are AIDS cases caused solely by recreational drug-use and poor nutrition, and there are cases where there doesn't seem to be any cause, but many suspect HHV-6a (a particularly nasty Herpes virus that actually destroys tissue and causes lesions on the brain, etc.) HIV has never been isolated and the supposed HIV tests only test for proteins that occur from exposure to many types of illnesses, even a pregnant woman can test positive because of carrying a baby. It's hogwash. Even the tests carry a disclaimer.
Herpes though is serious business and there are so many forms. One supplement you can buy cheaply that seems to be effective at preventing Herpes outbreaks is L-Lysine. Good luck ;-)
