Well, if this is herpes... that sucks.

But, i've already done plenty of research, and... meh. It's not the end of the world. Only thing I'm worried about would be telling my girlfriend... even if she would have been the one who gave it to me. Cause I know that if she was infected before we met, she didn't know it.

If the first breakout is the worst one, then I'm not too worried. What I have is more of an inconvenience than anything. It's not overly painfull, and as long as I keep the area clean and dry it doesn't bother me at all actually. The only problem is that it's hanging around for so damn long. But, if this is the worst of it, then my own my response to the (suspected) virus is minimal. Still, I hope it's not herpes, cause that's going to make our relationship get really complicated really quickly.

Thanks for the advice from you all. I'm going to go to the local hospital and get tested on Monday just to see if it is, or not. One thing that I did find today on the net was another condition sometimes mistaken for herpes. It's called Balanitis, and considering that it's mostly found in uncircumsized men I'm hoping that may be what I have. I have noticed that if I keep the area very dry (with a blow drier) then it seems to help the redness, and the spreading of the sores. In fact, it seems to make the sores retreat. Either way though, I will go get tested on Monday. No sense screwing around with this. Again, thanks for all your advice. Tweet
