you know, I am continually disappointed/saddened to witness or hear that so many people think nothing of stepping on or killing insects out of an "eew" reaction--

strange mindset, that thinks it's fine to do that, not out of defense but purely in attack, but would be apalled if something larger than than itself were to come along and do the same, just 'because'. :-(

and about rescue...
I'm with you. We all *depend on the kindness of strangers*, as it were. :-)
