Yeah I can't wait till they legalize gay marriage, so I can go out and get one of em just because I can. It'll be the cool thing to get, like ringtones. Only the cool kids will have em.

In the US 50% of heterosexual marriages fail. Marriage isn't under attack, heterosexual couples aren't taking it seriously enough. Most of the gay couples that want to get married have been together 5/10/15 years in a stable onogamous relationship. The reason why many marriages fail is because they couples rush into it or they do it for the wrong reasons. Gays want to be able to marry as a matter of equal rights and protection for their couple status, they won't break off the relationship just because of their inability to marry. On the other hand, Britney Spears can have a 24 hour long marriage, but that's ok?

Homosexuality doesn't lead to the downward slope of morality, narrow mindedness and inability/refusal to engage in open dialogue does.

Degradation of morals? How about Ann Coulter saying that the 9/11 widows enjoyed the fact that they lost their husbands just to make money? How about the crazy gays=apocalypse protests outside soldier's funerals? How about the goverment lying to its citizens about the motives for war and its continuing justification. (Bush was on that aircraft carrier saying the war was over in 2003 wan't he?) How about CEOs ruining the lives of tons of people for the sake of their own profits? How about the fact that Guantanamo Bay is continuing to hold prisoners without just cause? How about the justification of state-sponsored murder for criminals and not for a woman's right to choose? There are lots of things going on in this country right now that are a much more serious indication of the degradation of morality. Gay marriage is not one of them.

You know what the best way to protect your teenager is? Treat them with respect, talk with them not at them, and be available as a parent.
The bible has been used passionately in the past to justify slavery, racism, andsexism. If you're going to attack homosexuality as sin then there shouldn't be equal rights for anyone who's not a rich white christian male and only they should be in charge. Oh wait, that's reality. Tweet
