Re: How to overcome depression?
Noone really wants to take medication if they can help it. I even seldom used aspirin.
The bad stories are around, but that is more interesting to report. Someone on the forum does not like Paxil, because she must have had a bad experience.
My husband and I are very much helped by the drugs. May be people don't want to hear it on forums like this. I use to take prozac, it was wonderful for me. I could feel it instantly, which is unusual. After several years, it did not work anymore.
I have a new family doctor who is great. He is so reassuring, he said together we will find something else for you. To make it short. I use now Wellbutrin,Zoloft and Trazadone, it took a year to figure it out.
My husband uses Paxill, it has changed his life. He could not go to stores, inside buildings in general. Got easily irritated what means you can't do a project that might give you problems.
He is now a volunteer EMT on our town ambulance.
Anyhow I just want you to know that sometimes it works for people.
Now with my new life style I have been able to take 1 instead of 2 Wellbutrin. I also used amphitemines (sp ?) to have energy, I dropped them 2 months ago, never been able to do that.
So who knows what will happen but I plan on working together with regular medicine and the alternative one.
I hope I did not bore you, but I think people might want to look in different directions for help.
BTW my mother had it too. It still makes me sad to know how much she must have suffered. No drugs available at these times.

PS Hi Shelley, sorry to take so much of your space. I just checked on the top of page to see on what forum I was on.
