How to overcome depression?

I spent most of the time at home this week.
I went to talk to my adviser today. I realize that all my brain fog is related to depression.
I was out and I felt so weird. I just wanted to come back home and I did not want to talk to anybody. I realize that working is so hard because something inside me just want to stay in bed and forget about everything.
Besides my health problems, I have had some difficulties with my roommate, hard reseach subject, far from home. I think the whole situation has depressed me , but because I was not feeling sad I did not realize. II was feeling tired and sleepy. It is more like lack of motivation.
So, will the detox help me with this or do I need something else?
I am under a lot of stress I cannot get rid of soon. (Roommate problems).
