Re: HELP! How do I recognize candida?
after hearing more of your symptoms it definitely sounds like you do have some candida issues and you should absolutely address them if you know you have it. it will only continue to get worse over the years and make it harder to get rid of.
i don't believe i ever had the labyrinthitis (inner ear infection). that is what i was told my my family doctor because they had no other diagnosis. plus it was one of my initial symptoms - the dizzy spells - and began to progress from there and evolved into a million other things over a period of three months. i think most people who truly have an inner ear infection get vertigo. i did not have true vertigo (room spinning. i only had light headed spells and swooshing in my head followed by my equilibrium getting really messed up for a few months. i wish it wouldn't have taken me three months to figure out i had candida because i would have been able to catch it sooner. it had three months of a feeding frenzy because i was craving
Sugar so bad at that time that i ate all kinds of ice cream and cheese cake and horrible things. go figure that those little suckers love that stuff. i have always had a sweet tooth but i could always control myself...at that time i could NOT control my eating. i gained about 10 pounds. and as my symptoms got worse i got really scared...going from doctor to doctor getting all sorts of tests done...MRI's CT Scans, ultrasounds, bloodwork, etc. it was a nightmare...i thought i had lyme disease but then through the lyme disease boards i found out about candida because many of them have it due to long term
Antibiotic use to treat the lyme itself.
well i could really write a book about those three months of pure torture because i had so many other problems...i don't even like to think about it now because i was so depressed and scared and in so much pain that at times i didn't even want to exist anymore. i was so taxed both mentally and physically and felt really hopeless. all of the
Depression and anxiety is now gone and it went away very quickly after starting the diet. felt like a demon was sucked out of me.
you don't want to let your symptoms get like mine...especially since we have similar symptoms and both took long term
Antibiotics . the candida will come on REALLY strong after a long course of
Antibiotics ....it turned my whole world upside down in a matter of weeks. i really hope you do start to treat yourself now before it gets really out of hand. lots of people on here have cloudy or foamy urine. i get stringy things in mine and at times it is sorta cloudy or swirly...looks like someone mixed it with something. i used to have issues with taste too. certain things would taste funny to me but that was when i had the acid reflux everyday. i hardly ever get acid reflux anymore either. when i would eat store bought yogurt i would get a bubbly feeling on my tongue, almost like when fruit is starting to turn to alcohol and fizzes on your tongue.
the most important thing you can do right now is get on the diet. i am not gonna
Sugar coat it - the diet sucks and it ain't easy. but if you stick to the boards you will learn a lot and learn about all the other treatments people are using. it is really overwhelming at first and you will most likely start trying a million things all at once because you read so many different things that worked for different people. you just gotta figure out what works for you and you will learn that as you start treating yourself. i would be careful with the soup. tomatoes are ok on this diet but most of us can't have dairy (not sure if you put milk or cream in it) because the milk sugars. you should do a general google search to get the background of the candida diet and then feel free to ask away on these boards. there are lots of veterans on here who really know what they are talking about because they have been battling it for years. i am only six month's in and relatively new to the boards. good luck and i will try to help you out in any way i can!
