An idea of what God without Religion is

This is something that I have only recently come to understand and I thought it'd be worth putting "out there" as perhaps a discussion.

The original debate on this forum was what is religion and is there really God without religion. Well, how about this instead.

What about God and our having a personnal relationship with Him?
Is an "organised religion" the only way to have that relationship?
Is having that relationship outside of that organised religion okay? why, why not

I have my answers, but I'd rather see if there's any interest in the topic first.
