Re: please help!! i have drug resistant chronic giardiasis

I had really severe giardia for 8 months and while stumbling across curezone I made a promise to myself that if I got cured I would post on here so that others might find some hope from it.

Explosive diarrhoea, constant nausea, stomach cramps, fatigue, and a chemical taste in my mouth stayed for 8 months and I thought I'd never be normal again.

I tried natural methods first, raw garlic, ayurvedic herbs, a dapper, a Balinese healer, energy healing etc then decided it was time to move onto the hard stuff after diagnosis so metronidazole, tinidazole, albendazole, then a combo of albendazole with tinidazole, all under different Drs supervision while I travelled. After 6 months my body was taking the toll, I'd lost 12 kg and was thin to start with.

I returned to the UK after 2 years travelling in Asia and went straight to the London Tropical Medicine Hospital (the Drs there are amazing). I had a report of theirs on resistant giardia and the only drug with a 100% cure rate noted on their report was mepacrine(quinacrine).

I took mepacrine under the supervision of a Dr at the Tropical Medicine Hospital I believe for 7 days. Just to be sure the buggers went I also visited a naturopath and took black Wormwood at the same time. I took Alocilin max tablets for a couple of months after the Antibiotics as well as probuotics and MSM.

It took a while after finishing mepacrine for my body to start feeling normal again. I actually thought the treatment had failed because I didn't feel I instantly better, but after so long the body needed to clear all of the crap out and get working again.

I realise the original post here was many years ago but I know it's still searchable so if anybody is suffering I just wanted to let you you know that mepacrine worked for me. This was early 2017. Tweet
