Re: The Lure Of Hypocrisy

"I don't know enough to rationally discuss Revelations and I guess that it's because the idea of trying to interpret all of the metaphors and symbolism won't alter what will be."

assume much?

for a reasonable and rational discussion of the book of the bible known as revelations to take place, one must know what it is. this requires knowing the author. therefore, no one understands it.

usually one can gain some understanding of the contents of a book by the title: "the unveiling of that which has been previously hidden about jesus christ." so its not a fortune telling book. in fact, god hates fortune telling so everyone involved in so-called prophecy is doing hateful things in gods sight. good luck to them. they are false prophets, magicians, soothsayers, etc.

since these things were once hidden, that means that they already existed. in fact, all of the bible is prophetic. gods word is always true. there is nothing new. its happened before and it will happen again.

anyway, the book is about jesus christ but it is also about all those in christ. you know, the generation past jesus:

Matthew 1:17
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

if you count the generations, jesus is the 13th generation
