No Differentiations

It is my understanding that once Christ brought God's Word to the masses, every human being was welcome. He spent time with the very people that the Tribal elders taught were enemies and it is very important to take writings in context and not place contemporary history into the Gospels whenever it can be avoided. Interpretation can actually dilute the messages because we put our modern spins on the perceptions and forget that life was very harsh when Christ was teaching. In those days, there was strict delineation between tribes, cultures, races, and gender, and those lines of demarcation were severe and savagely protected.

Certainly, there were prophecies and they were often allegorical or metaphorical. So, we each take from those writings what we see in them as it applies to modern day. People have "hated" other races and tribes since the dawn of man. It is part of the human condition to single out people who are different. This, in part, is what Christ was trying to convey in Romans, Galatians, and Colossians. They all said the same thing, almost verbatim:

Romans 10:12-13
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."

Galatians 3:28
Verse Concepts
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:11
Verse Concepts
a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

Having three different passages that say virtually the same thing is pretty substantial. It's not just one Apostle's interpretation. People are still going to remain prejudiced and I may not like that fact, but it is part of the human condition and one that I'm supposed to be working on, myself. Do I still become uneasy if I see a gang of teenagers gathered together when I'm walking somewhere? Yes, I do, and it doesn't matter what color they are. This is something that I need to work on and it most certainly is a challenge.
