Re: Day 7: broke fast due to severe, persistent nausea
What a bummer. Don't be discouraged. However, I'm always a little startled with those that experience nausea during a fast. I'm on day 20 of my fast and have yet to experience nausea or even severe hunger pains but I am being assisted by a physician. He prepped me for my fast. Which means I didn't wake up one random morning and decide I would fast. It took me 3 weeks to prepare. I had to be weaned off a variety of medications (hormones, thyroid, blood pressure, etc.), vitamins and supplements since you cannot take any of them on an empty stomach. Also he had me experiment with a couple of overnight fasts (eat dinner around 7pm and then nothing till noon the next day). Then he would have weaned me off coffee, soda and alcohol but I do not consume any of those kinds of beverages. The 3 days before I actually started fasting I was instructed to only eat raw fruits and vegetables. My fast has been very uneventful and with only positive results (ie clearing lots of toxins, eliminating migraines, allergies,
Arthritis and numerous aches and pains and inflammation throughout the body) and I'm experiencing weight loss as an added bonus. I have been somewhat dehydrated but that is to be expected and I've been given an occasional IV. I was given strict instructions to avoid exercise (other than walking at a leisurely pace), hot baths, jacuzzi, sauna and massage. All those activities can bring on hydration and make one light headed. Give it another shot but pace yourself.
