Re: Criticism and the possibility of judgement from people is holding me back...

Thank you! Since i started i find hard to realize how many even 10 days are, now i know it is totally fine for the body, mine at least; if they told me 2 years ago i would have laughed at this :)

I started this Water Fasting because i've repeatedly felt overwhelmed by food cravings and suffered from serious food intolerances . Even foods considered healthy (steamed potatoes, steamed fish/meat ecc) affected my mind and body.
So in the first days of fasting i of course have experienced huge cravings and withdrawal effects (until day 4-5) along with having literally 0 energy. I spent these days at bed. Strong cravings cyclically appeared during the fasting, last time yesterday, but went away in less than a hour.

Now, at first i wanted to fast something like 7-10 days, but then i've found the books of Herbert Shelton , which has supervised in his life thousands of fastings, and that has given a detailed description of the process of fasting. I trust what he has written as it makes perfectly sense to me* for many many reasons, and decided to follow his instructions. In this regard, he wrote that lenght of fasting cannot be deciced "a priori" as fasting has to come at its natural end: when a true feeling of hunger returns. Often this is accompanied by a clearing of the tongue, often coated during the fasting (happened to me yesterday). This said, i hope my fasting won't last more than 25-30 days.

*Also funny that he was an advocate of the raw diet, which is the only one i'm able to tolerate

Overall, the biggest side effects i've experienced are weakness and orthostatic hypotension, for which i'm almost passed out two times, when standing up quickly. I've also found out that more the time i spend at bed, more the fatigue i experience while standing. Staying seated is preferable to me, even if Shelton recommended to stay at bed the most of the time.
At the moment i'm feeling ok, with only occasional losses of strength. Still i have to be careful about standing up, though. But i'm confident abiut this, and i'm sure that even in the case i won't come out of it completely healed i will be significantly better: for many aspects i am already. However post-fasting lifestyle it's of huge importance.

I hope to have been of help! If you want to commit to a long Water Fasting i suggest you to start searching for materials of its carrying out and of its breaking, which is a very important part. I can suggest you "fasting and sunbathing" by Shelton and you can easily find it online.
