Re: Fasting not working any more?

OK this is just my observation. And a bit of Dr Fung's research too.
The fasts get more effective @ getting to fat and burning it I feel.
I am more muscular now @ 160 than I was @ 150 the first time I got to 150. Subsequent passes @ 150 got me more and more muscular and I worked out just one session from 150-165 in the last week Jan-1st week Feb time frame. Any time I got to 150 I was more muscular.
Protein/muscle catabolism occours mainly in the first 4-5 days of starting a fast. Pretty much a good reason to run long long long fasts till you're truly hungry again.
Muscle is the first to rebuild when you refeed especially if you eat good nutrient dense foods. Cos fasting gets the insulin receptors in the muscles all very very alert and sensitive.
You're probably burning up the worst, oldest, sickest most decrepit muscle anyway. Also autophagy covers other tissue too, skin and others, remove the old and replace with new.
Thanks.
Srinath.
