Re: You mean like this?

lolol. i think i know you better than you do.

you said: "And you are wrong about Habakkuk. God just knew you needed to hear it apparently."

well, i saw it was the featured verse over at biblegateway. i knew YOU werent diggin around in habakkuk. youre in a constant state of denial, arent ya?

but hey. dont let me slow ya down. i love that you responded to me and i hope it will evolve into something more open and honest as time moves on.

everybody thinks god loves stringed instruments. well, thats not the case. he didnt make any. he made wind instruments. and the only instruments he has told people to use was horns, like at jericho.

so, im right about this. just because the lord allows infinite creativity and puts up with all manner of veriations on themes whether he likes it or not is beside the point. i play trumpet and guitar. i dont condemn me and i dont think god does either. nor habakkuk, just because he set something to strings.

what god doesnt like is worshipping the creation instead of the creator. there is nothing sacred about harps and angels dont play them. david played a harp maybe. gabriel blows a horn? and by the way, not all truth is contained in the bible. its just that the bible contains the truth, so other truth wont contradict it. see the difference? of course not, but we will continue in that direction.

this is an interesting one.

refreshed: "Cain's sacrifice was not rejected by God because of his genetics."

whats your basis for that? genetics have a lot to do with our behaviour. i believe i talked about agriculture and how that is not a particularly good idea. it allows for cities which are definitely not a good idea. and its not sustainable. well, it could be but there would be nothing left over for the owners to steal. it would be going into future generations instead.

what was wrong with cains sacrifice? you got a sermon for that? you like to specialize in trivia so i will let you guide that subject.

refreshed: "the bible does not say that Eve had sex with the snake."

thats correct, it doesnt. guys talk to girls all the time and sex rarely occurs. lolol

what DOES the bible say?

3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

when does a child realize they are naked? only after its been pointed out to them. adults are supposed to know these things.

also, what does this mean?

"And Adam knew Eve his wife"

gee whillikers. eating the fruit of the tree. the knowledge of good and evil.

what in all gods creation epitomizes more a thing that can be used for ultimate good and ultimate evil? can give life or commit a heinous crime? what did steve miller mean when he said, "i really love your peaches, want to shake your tree."?

or do you want more scripture? what do you want the scripture to say? "they f***ed. eve went and got adam. they orgied." huh?

heres one:

Proverbs 30:20
Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

the bible is supposed to be for mature audiences, you know? mature already.

refreshed: "You got that story outside of the bible from another source."

no other source. just bible.

refreshed: "So your ideas about Cain don't even work."

actually, its the only way the story does work. nothing else makes sense. explain it a different way. please.

refreshed: "You are trying to make this all about genetic perfection instead of it being all about sin, the whole reason Jesus died on the cross for us."

you are trying to make the whole story in the bible about how god made us in order to save us or he will torture us forever. do you know how wack you have to be to think that way?

no, actually, even worse than that. you think god is an idiot. you have to. you dont think god knew that adam and eve were gonna eat from that tree? the question isnt why they ate from that tree but why they didnt eat from the other tree? the tree of life? there were two trees in the midst of the garden.

James 1:13
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

here is a question for you. if adam and even had not eaten from either tree, would they have lived forever?

and as i sit here and think about it, yes it is about genetics. what made noah perfect in his generations? did he pick his ancestry? and what about adam? whree is cain in his generations? HUH???here, i will paste it here for you.

3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

what? wheres cain? hes not there because he is not adams seed. or is the bible mistaken? it has nothing to do with what cain offered to god. it had to do with cain was not begotten by adam. he was NOT in adams image and after his likeness. HE LOOKED DIFFERENT AND HE KNEW IT. and mentioned it to god, who helped him out with that.

im all ears for a better, more thorough, more scripturally backed theory. let me have it.
