Re: will my goiter disappear with Iodine?
Hello,
I have a few questions regarding using
Iodine to shrink a goiter and nodules. I was diagnosed with a goiter and later thyroid nodules about 6 months ago. I started seeing a naturopathic doctor who started me on 1/4 grain nature throid, 4 drops lugo's
Iodine in water, and a couple dropper fulls twice daily of an adrenal tincture to help with my energy.
As soon as I started taking the
Iodine I noticed a difference ( I started with one drop and worked my way up to six drops, increasing a drop more a week) my throat didn't feel tight, my energy stabilized things were looking up. But by the end of every week it felt like my body would adapt to the iodine dosage and start going backwards. My throat would start to feel tight again and my energy would start lagging. At 6 drops (even though I was only suppose to get to 4) I never got the jitters, never interrupted my sleep, and wasn't nervous or anxious. So my naturopathic doctor checked my iodine level and it was in the 700. Apparently that's high, so she had me take it down to 2 drops which is what I'm currently on.
Now I should mention, on 6 drop for a week I started getting not painful headaches just annoying little ones. That being said, I've read good things on this forum about iodine and how people have been able to shrink their goiters and nodules with the help of iodine. I've also read how you need to be smart about using iodine because in some people it can actually bring on hypothyroidism (Not sure if this is true or false, I came across this in my information hunt on iodine) So I'm just looking for some insight, suggestions, successful attempts at using iodine, and help. Thanks in advance :)
