I think your biggest mistake was stopping the MSM. It is the most all encompassing supplement you could ever take because it helps ALL cells communicate better - including those within your kidneys. One of the keys to its effectiveness is to take a modest amount of Vitamin C with it because it acts as catalyst. Also, if you weren't ingesting 64 ounces of water a day, that could have presented a hardship on your kidneys that they couldn't sustain.
