I think of this as a synergy -- you add something that's been missing, and metabolic pathways rev up and use up the existing nutrients. Better to have the systems working full out and to supply the nutrients that are called for. I wouldn't blame Iodine for making your system work better :) When I raised Vitamin D, I suddenly needed Vitamin K and magnesium -- lots of both. I didn't blame Vitamin D. I blessed finding out that I was missing such valuable nutrients and that I now had the capacity to put them to use.
