I know this is old, but maybe it will help someone. I found out that I had hepC in 1999. Since then I have taken several years of treatment. I took them all at full length because I had type 1a I think. Whatever it was the doctors said it was the hardest one to get rid of. Anyway, I took several medication series. The first one I had to measure interferon from small bottles and take it three times a week, including ribiviron. That cleared me but it came back. Then I took at clicker pen injection once a week with ribiviron. same thing. All of my series were like 48 weeks or something. Anyhow, cleared and returned. Then I took another med with ribiviron. I cant remember its name. I think it had something to do with RNA. clear and return. Finally, OH FINALLY, Harvoni and ribiviron. Cleared for over a year and a half. Im not even on the liver transplant list anymore because my numbers are too low. What I want to say is keep your head up. I was lucky enough to catch this in the military and the VA took care of it, but I had a lot of disappointment, even three esophageal bleeds and a wife that divorced me because she apparently forgot the "in sickness" part, but now, at 40, I think I can live a full life. (as long as some punk kid doesn't hit me while driving and texting) Good luck to everyone out there with this unfortunate virus. Just remember, its not your fault and you can beat this.
