Whenever someone starts Iodine therapy, I suggest what Dr. Flechas (one of the Iodine therapy gurus) recommends: 200mcg.- 400mcg (MAXIMUM) selenium for one month prior to bringing Iodine therapy into play to prevent and treat possibly unknown Hashimoto's from being stimulated by iodine without the selenium, that will be FIXED WITH the selenium restoring & maintaining balance of the immune response.
Don't leave the selenium out!
The one thing you don't want to do is create an autoimmune attack on the thyroid gland from too much iodine without the balancing act of selenium.
