Re: Longterm

For how long would you expect to take omega 3 before seeing the benefit ? I'm adverse to supplementation in general. http://plenteousveg.com/vegan-sources-omega-3/ is a good list of sources.

Flax seeds, for example, are relatively inexpensive. According to that link only 65 grams (1 ounch is required daily) 6 times RDA.

The other consideration is omega 6 being a pro-inflammatory - ''Research suggests that Omega 6 inhibits the conversion of Omega 3 into DHA and EPA. So, the Omega 3 from foods like walnuts (2,542mg Omega 3 but 10,666 Omega 6) or sesame seeds (105mg Omega 3 but 5,984mg Omega 6) may not be adequate sources of Omega 3 for conversion into DHA and EPA.''

My trouble comes from understanding why the body is manifesting a pro-inflammatory response in the form of EC and other skin disorders. If EC is due to the maniestation of a digestive/autoimmune disorder what is being achieved from counteracting the inflammatory response with an anti-inflammatory if the problem is only going to continue? ...
