That's not what I said. Read it again. I did not know I was given Prednisone BEFORE I knew I was infected with parasites. The immunosuppresive action of the Prednisone caused the strongyloides to go into hyperinfection, which is when I first started noticing them. Before, I imagine the hyperimmunity caused by the lupus was keeping them in check, while causing other problems. Catch-22 situation. Took Prednisone for lupus (not knowing I had strongyloides at the time), other problems do not get better, instead, strongyloides go hyperinfection and make me even sicker. Doctors think it's a reaction to the steroids. I was never even tested for parasites until I forced a doctor to give me an ELISA test, where they found the strongyloides.
