Re: Update: Bad news! Appreciate any help
In my case, I've had this for an approximate of 6 months now, but it was only this Feb that it got worse (Upper lip now affected and some form of Angular Cheilitis). Well, I have the dreaded triangle on the middle of the upper lip and some minor flaking but most of my EC is on my lower lip. The affected area turns white and the "scabs" and flaking skin overgrows when left completely dry.
I still eat and drink everything I want, but as much as possible I don't let it touch my lips anymore. Also, I can pretty much talk and smile normally even when dry, but I'd rather keep them moisturized because the peeling cycle dramatically lessens that way. Also, I don't get the "white gunk" that people talk about when they wake up or when they talk. I don't get the huge, yellow crusts that some people have here but maybe that's because I try my best to clip off any excess, and the excess is usually just white.
Here's a pic, maybe add a little more "scabbing" and flaking and that's the worst mine can get so far:

Other than that, they usually look normal if all the excess is cut off and if they are properly moisturized 24/7.
On another note, what are your thoughts on getting them wet? Does it hinder the healing process, if any?
