Re: Update
"My thyroid is indeed becoming insanely hypo. August labs proved this. Low T4, T3, and high TSH (a 7!). ...desiccated thyroid I take is not helping anymore like it did last year. I was told to up my dose, but like many others on this board, I'd rather get to the root of the problem.
== I think it is wise to up the dose while you look for underlying cause(s). You need to function and think straight to look for those causes.
== Have you tried some selenium, iodine, maybe zinc.
" I mean, duh, mold is the culprit, but cortisol may be a good temporary solution.
== Thyroid and adrenal cortex--cortisol--are different systems but of course affect each other. So much could be said about all of this.
== I'm much improved but with a couple of lingering issues, mostly related to catecholamines. I had/have a heavy metal problem that my doctors were very slow to recognize. Obviously most people don't have that. However at some point if the symptoms match and doctors have not had much luck addressing the problem it could be worth considering the possible involvement of HMs.
