Trying to shrink a large multi-nodular thyroid goiter

Hi there,
I'm new to CureZone so please redirect this post if it is in the wrong forum.

I have a multi-nodular goiter on the right side of my thyroid. It has grown considerably since I was first diagnosed with it in 2008. It can now be seen and people are always telling me that they can see it which is pretty disconcerting.

My endocrinologist says I need to remove the entire thyroid because of the growth of the goiter and the fact that I have nodules that are 1cm on the left side that could potentially grow large as well. My thyroid is functioning properly.

I DO NOT WANT TO REMOVE MY THYROID! I understand how important this gland is and do not want to be on synthetic medications for the rest of my life.

I have been told by my herbalist friends that the goiter may be caused by fungus and/or lack of iodine. I have read so many articles and done so much reviewing of literature but still feel unsure of what can be done to shrink the goiter. I can feel the goiter every time I swallow.

Any help on natural methods that have been used shrink thyroid goiters would be greatly appreciated. I am a woman of African descent with a family history of thyroid issues. Thanks for reading all of this and I look forward to hearing from someone.
