Increases IgA production which you are deficient in, at least in the area where you have colitis/inflammation. It also reduces inflammatory processes in the digestive system by a number of mechanisms.

I think that page does have the growth temperature incorrect because I have cultured it at a higher temperature than 37C. My yoghurt maker tends to get very hot, sometimes as high as 50C which I do need to do something about because it causes problems culturing heat sensitive organisms. Bacillus Subtilis maximum growth rate is about half the crazy temperatures that my yoghurt maker gets to.
