I beg to differ. Many people are intelligent and critical and can easily separate the wheat from the chaff.

The truth is that because they can kill most microbes ( germs ) in water, and because the human body is mostly water, there is an obvious potential.

You are obviously hung up on the old outdated traditional view of a parasite being visible. To set you straight, the following is from the Wikipedia: " parasite now includes microparasites, which are typically smaller, such as protozoans,[1][2] viruses and bacteria" and the reason for this is: the "symbiotic relationship between species, where one species, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host."

Some claim that parasitism is one sided in that only the parasite benefits from the relationship. This is not necessarily true as there are cases where the host can benefit from the presence of traditional parasites.
