I used it from the time I removed it to about 5 months after. In hindsight I think if I had not used it my symptoms would have been worse. I stopped using it because I got scared of further side effects from it. I am peri-menopausal, according to my blood work, but I believe I went into it prematurely due to the use of Mirena.
