Re: Saturated and new to Septic system !!!

I think he meant drain field trenches because our system is about 24 years old. He said he found three trenches in the system field, and that trenches actually provided more surface area than a comparable leach field. Once the lines are clear the key has to be rehabbing the soil and the filters. Water softener will be diverted, washing machine diverting is illegal here so it has to stay. I'm putting a lint filter on the washer. I'm considering adding worms (the "trifecta" you described) to aid the soil rejuvenation after this is completed, as long as the ground isn't frozen by then. I can't say that I trust any of the septic servicers in my area, every one that I have spoken with have been less than impressive and not very professional, so I'm kinda stuck because I don't know enough to dig anything up myself with any confidence. Any other ideas for soil rehabbing? Thanks again, -Dave
