Re: Saturated and new to Septic system !!!

I am totally against aerating the septic tank, unless it is a 3 chamber tank that is designed for aeration. IMO, Aerate the D-Box is A-OK.

Speed levelers can be retrofitted to your D-Box.

The contractor you pick for hydro jetting your laterals should be able to get the permit for you to do the job, including adding risers. Roto Rooter in your area will do this work.

I know how stressful septic systems can be. I have suffered the never ending LIES & Deception with my own system. All roads lead to forcing you into an expensive new system. Finding the TRUTH on the internet is like walking through a minefield!

IMO, if you are forced into doing a mound system, the problems are still there. You need to add the gray water system to protect the new mound from the washing machine & water softener. How many chambers are in your tank? If it is a single chamber tank, it should be replaced with a multi-chamber tank. You don't want to blow away $30K and suffer problems again in 7 years or less. If they install a Mound, make them put risers on your tank, and the pump station. you must insist on a serviceable system or you will be a future victim. The mound itself needs access pipes. Just because these bozos install the system "To Code" does not mean it is in YOUR best interest. They build it for THEIR best interest, which means get more money out of you in the future. Septic is a RACKET."Normal" does mean it is right.

Septic Systems are a sh*tty subject. I will NEVER buy another house with a septic system knowing what I know today.
