You mentioned that you have stomach inflammation. I was just checking out tongue chart chinese medicine (googled tongue chart chinese medicine images) since I have a crack in the center of my tongue, which is known as the stomach/spleen crack. As for the stomach, it means your stomach dry. I assume that means your stomach is not producing enough acid?

Here is just one article that links inflammation to depression. Aspirin is one of the suggested anti-inflammatory therapies, which is suggested for adults over 40 anyway.
