Re: 3 Years of vertigo, loss of balance, exhaustion -- help!
My daughter in law has recently been diagnosed with leaking cerebrospinal fluid and has vertigo, headaches, hearing problems, dizziness, Meniere's,and just had a dye-type MRI full day of tests. They have tried blood patches and are considering surgery for a significant tear in the C1 area (I think). Apart from that I would consider SIBO and look for a qualified Naturpath to look at the gut/brain axis - hope you are feeling better. This is the first time I have posted anything to a thread. Usually just read them. I have been seeing a Naturopathic Dr in Australia who was trained at Bastyr university in America. A website to look at is Allison Seibecker (siboinfo). I used to be vegan but had to review my position after debilitating joint and muscle inflammation with trochanteric bursitis which started nearly three years ago. I had a history of having food poisoning a number of times and IBS symptoms for decades. While I am not out of the woods I have more control over my symptoms and reduced pain and discomfort. I have had a number of unrelated setbacks including mould toxicity, recently treated for aeromonas that was picked up from a stool analysis that looks for DNA of organism. That may have been long-standing as the test has only recently (3months ago) be one available. Took Bactrim for that which my have also cleared klebsiella which was detected in stool sample sent to America last year and naturopath said would require multiple
Antibiotics . The diet for klebsiella (which is implicated in ankylosing spondylitis - which I could see similarities with in my symptoms several years ago) is a no-starch diet which is also fundamental to the SIBO diet of Seibecker - I have found I need to keep an open mind about how much I'm willing to make changes and to congestion to light and hope on days where I have human shortcomings that affect how I stick to an optimal plan. Hope you have found some solutions by now - my naturopath cites the costs of medical assistance as prohibitive in America. I was looking up vertigo for a friend when I found this. Wendy
