Re: ANOTHER B12 Update and some conclusions...
In an attempt to avoid getting injections, I began studying up on the different vitamin B12 available out there. I discovered the Methyl b12 tablets. Seeing a correlation between low B12 levels and alzheimers, a light bulb went off. My father suffers from the onstage of alzheimers as did my maternal grandfather. With symptoms of fatigue, fogginess , and growing neuropathy in my feet, I elected to try some of the higher doses of the sublingual B12 tablets rather than liquid or injection forms. (I absolutely detest needles and want to avoid shots for as long as I can). I purchased the 10,000 mcg of Cyanocobalamin at my local pharmachy and after 3 months of dosing myself, found it did nothing to make me feel any better. My tested B12 levels did not elevate. I didn't get any energy boost and was still struggling with foggy thinking. I delved into B12 research again and found the Methyl B12 was absorbed better by some people, especially those who have been treated for acid reflux (another issue of mine). My thoughts were, this is my last ditch efforts, and bought the Methyl B12 at a health food store in 1000 mcg tablets. I took 10 at a time to get me to 10,000 mcg (a dosage used in alternative treating of Alzheimers) and ZIINNNGGG... I was wired. Added to 10,000 mcg of Mega D3, it was crack to my system. I eased back to 5,000 mcg of the Methyl B12 and 5000 mcg of D3 and was immediately amazed at the change in me. My neuropathy has reduced 90%, the black cloud that hovered over my head dissipated. I actually feel like cleaning house again and taking walks. My foggy brain has cleared for the most part but I have noticed after 2 months of being on this regimen, I may need up up the anti on the amount of Methyl as my body has plateaued, and at times- usually after a full day of work, I find myself dragging. My next stop is to have my levels checked again to assure I'm not harming my body. I have also taken a bottle of Methyl B12 to my father and removed the Cyanocobalamin form from his medicine cabinet. My mother reports Dad seems to be not as forgetful of late and our phone conversations are easier.
