Re: B12 nasal spray and injections
I checked out some info on methylcobalamin, including the Methyl Mate at New Beginnings Nutritionals.
Methylcobalamin is usually only available by prescription for nasal spray or injection, and expensive. This is why I had not tried it before, even with the cyanide and mercury issues with the more common form of B12, cyanocobalamin.
The product you reference [Methyl mate] does not recommend that it be used as anything but sub-lingual drops. This may be for legal reasons, in order to make a liquid form available without prescription. The other source I cite here states that sub-lingual methylcobalamin often is NOT effective. That is certainly my experience with cyanocobalamin.
Since the dose per liquid volume is listed, one can compare it with that of the other forms and calculate a dose. For example, it is 5 times the concentration of the inject-able cyanocobalamin that I have used, and appears to have safer inert ingredients. It should be possible to disassemble the dropper, and just use the upper back rubber section and the lid, creating a bottle that can be used for repeated injections. Dose would need reduction to 1/3 my current dose. I would tend to go this way first, in order to compare effect with the cyanocobalamin I currently use. Allegedly, it should be more effective and take less to accomplish the same effect.
Since some people react just as well or better to a nasal spray as to the shots, I might try that for a while later [after 3-6 months] and see now I do. Would be cheaper, easier, and a bit safer. There are several risks involved with injections, and the syringes are an extra expense and bother!
Instead of costing over twice what I am paying for cyanocobalamin like the prescription form, the product you mentioned would cost much less! An additional advantage it that I would not have to fight a lengthy battle with my personal physician at Kaiser in order to get a prescription or pay $250 or more to get a doc outside Kaiser to do it.
There is some very good general info regarding methylcobalamin spray and shots at

This gives a source for a pharmacy prescription for those not poor, brave and/or crazy enough to try it my way! If I go ahead with this, will report back on the results. I know that I am not the only one at CZ or even at this forum who has money issues!!
Thanks for the tip, 11138!!!
