Spend some time googling linus pauling, Dr thomas Levy, cathcart, klenner and the list goes on.

There are countless testimonials all across the web from people who had heart attacks due to blockages and followed the "pauling therapy" and reversed all blockage within months.

Additionally Dr Bush uses CardioRetinometry to view level of plaue buildup in the eyes which directly correlates to arterial blockage and he has monitored the progress of countless patients who have used the pauling therapy as well.

Its all very well documented and quite believable if your willing to look at sources oytside the good ol boys club.

The lack of vitamin C and its effects on collagen based tissue are clearly and well documented and while the FDA's pathetic RDA for vit C may be enough to prevent full blown scurvy its not nearly enough to overcome toxins we are exposed to every day.

Whats sad is that in todays society large double blind studies cost a lot of money and since there isnt much money to be made from nutrients nothing gets done. At to the fact the FDA is in big pharma's back pocket people get scared of taking more than the RDA when is so many cases for so many nutrients the upper safe limit they claim is a paltry dose.

As for "non natural vitamin C" being not good, the chemical composition/molecular structure of what the body uses has been clearly identified and man made ascorbic acid is not viewed any differently by the body than natural vitamin C. Here is a little light reading if interested.
