Re: Hypoglycemic Insomnia and Too Much Nighttime Cortisol
OK. First of all we need to know your DHEA, progesterone, pregnenolone, ACTH, and cortisol in either saliva, urine or blood. Just tell me if you have had any of these tested before, I know you can´t have tests now, neither I can. Is best if you have tests of both. For example I have VERY LOW all adrenal hormones in saliva and urine but markedly high cortisol in morning blood. Saliva and urine are best, blood is misleading and I suspect this high cortisol in blood is not the free version. So your high cortisol is blood or saliva? Very important.
Next, insomnia and sleep problems (which I have big time) are due to: adrenals, thyroid mainly, sometimes you need methylation (and this is a huge topic on its own) but even they can be related with vitamin D or progesterone defficiency. I tested defficient in glutathione, GABA and melatonin sublingual so I recently supplemented those. They work like a charm for sleep onset insomnia. Imagine getting to sleep in 15 or 30 minutes. Magic isnt it? Check my recent thread on this. Well I still wake up an average of 3 times per night though and often more. Since I got thyroid and adrenals tested and they are f***ed I know perfectly that the fragmented and unrefreshing sleep comes from these. Furthermore, I suspect the melatonin alone is the one that works and will test it this night. It is Douglas Labs, a brand that works (a lot of brands are placebo sadly).
To cure adrenal fatigue the best way IMO is following the guidelines of Wilson:

Although I don´t know if this applies to the early stage of AF, high cortisol.
I also am interested in supplementing with Magnesium oil, that stuff raises quickly intracellular magnesium AND DHEA!!! Some people say it helps a lot with sleep. Magnesium is vital to recover from AF so I will take this soon for sure.

Buy flakes and make your own magnesium oil and you will have the cheapest supplement ever.
