Re: Magnesium Citrate Intolerance

Gastric Paresis can be attributed to an underlying cause such as Diabetes, Surgery, Parkinson, Collagen Vascular, Internal Psuedo Obstruction and some rare condition including semi obstruction of the intestines.

If there is no underlying cause and it happened out of the blue it is called Idiopathic. It is triggered by a Viral like gastroenteritis event, Gastroesophegal Reflux Disease (GERD), Non Ulcer Dyspepsia, or unknown. Once triggered it can cycle for a year or more and is countered by resting the digestive system by eating carefully.

As the Epsom Salts was unable to clear by the time you consumed the Olive oil I would tend towards thinking that you have an occlusion in the upper intestines that is preventing the transit of food. These can other be helped by lying on your side with your knees to chest. I favour this position after consuming the Epsom Salts and/or olive oil. Lying on your back would be the worst position if in fact you had an occlusion.

An occlusion is a non physical blockage cause by an anomaly of the bowel (tall and thin with a high navel), trapped nerve, loss of internal fat pads, interference around the ligaments, blood vessels and/or duodenum.

It is very complicated and a detailed understanding of the symptoms is critical in order to obtain a diagnosis.
