Re: Could flukes come from chinese restaurants?

Anything IS possible. I DEFINITELY contracted my parasite from a local Mexican restaurant. My problems started immediately 12 hours after eating there. I do think an infected worker contaminated the food due to poor hygiene. I have avoided that restaurant (and most others) since then. I rarely eat out, preferring to cook at home (tastes better, too), unless there is some special occasion with family or friends (and even then I am very picky, highly suspicious and examine EVERYTHING about the location, workers, and especially the food). Best to avoid restaurants, (especially sushi), food cooked by others, buffets. The temporary social and foodie experiences are NOT worth reinfection or worsening any current parasite condition. Sadly, food tastes so good...I was already a fanatic about personal and food hygiene, but now...Also, if you're worrying about the possibility of infection from ANY food purveyor, your experience there won't be any good anyway, so why chance it? Get a wok and learn something new. I now have a fantastic collection of cookbooks and enjoy reading them as much as cooking the recipes.
