The only research I can find of rope parasites is from unpublished work of the Russian doctor Volinsky. Is there any other source? If I search for the latin name used in the research, 'funis parasitus', I come up with nothing, nor the term "rope parasites".

How credible is this theory of rope parasites?
If they are so prevelent and enormous is size how come there is no more data on them?
