Unfortunately there is not much information out there. At this time there are more questions than answers. Here are the papers available currently:

I developed the questionnaire so that we could start to see if there are any connections/patterns with folks who are seeing these strange mucus ropes/strands/strings.

- Are they in fact parasites? We don't know.

- Are they homes of microscopic parasites? Maybe.

- How are they transmitted? We don't know.

- Many are seeing them after doing coffee enemas. Why? We don't know.

- Folks tend to feel a lot better after they release them. Why? We don't know.

The Russian team is researching them and has done more than any other researchers have done. They are working on DNA sequencing so perhaps they will have more answers for us soon.

Some look like they could be the lining of my small intestine. I have been cleansing for 3 years so perhaps it is just natural sloughing like a snake. I had severe inflammation and small intestine malabsorption for almost 2 decades so this is a possibility.

Some say that they may be mucoid plaque. Hmmm...too me they are too textured and do not look like Bernard Jensen 's photos in his Bowel Cleansing books.

Ideas of them being extruded from the bile ducts are also a possibility. See my post here re: this idea and excerpts from old literature discussing similar mucus strands:

There also seems to be some kind of a link with children who have autism. Perhaps these mucus ropes/strings/strands are creating obstructions which do not allow the normal elimination of heavy metals to exit the body creating chemical toxicity poisoning for these kids. I am not directing anyone to Miracle-Mineral-Supplement because I do not know about its safety or efficacy but it is an interesting presentation.

Could it be that this is just stagnant lymph moving out as folks start to alkalize their bodies? Could this be why so many rope worm sufferers have food allergies and seasonal allergies. Perhaps this is the mucus medium that foods and pollen react to?

The bottom line is that we need more investigation. Until then if others can share their experiences then perhaps we can start to figure this out.
