Chronic stress is the reason why 90% of patients visit their doc, and certainly not Hg. Stress is only the mechanism that serves to weaken immunity, and then the weak link will become exposed and....snap. It is the trigger of the gun, not the bullet. The person pulls the trigger by way of compromising their HPA axis. The projectile leaving the gun is highly specific to the gun's owner, however and dependent on many factors.
For some it may be their joints ( Rheumatoid Arthritis ), whereas others pick up highly specific pathogens that affect their bowel and cause inflammation (Klebsiella, like in ankylosing sponylitis), etc, etc.
As you are aware, candida is something most all of us have, but this compromised ability of the immune system in those with HPA dysfunction makes it highly likely that many with chronic candidiasis will not fully recover without adequate attention being paid to repairing the body's endogenous immune-regulatory systems.
