Same reasoning as with Finns and their sauna routines: Take as much of the sauna's heat as possible, then run out into the snow or hole in the frozen lake to dunk! I've always watched my dad's family (Finnish emigrants) do this; despite the diet they ate, they had that glow and spark of energy even in the winter! (Grandma also did castor oil and daily enemas!) The sauna 'gene' must not have passed to me, 'cuz I'm not too tolerant of extremes of temperature and prefer to pass on the sauna experience! ;) However, hubby and I do once to twice daily hot Jacuzzi baths, complete with at least a short blast of cool water to the nether regions.... ;#
