Don't you read past posts? People's lips have looked better or healed while using some barrier type ointments. Taking away the ointment means taking away the healing. So, it is only temporarily healed.

Due to the strong cortisone ointment, my lips are not peeling now, but they will after the effect wears off. Hence, I am only managing my EC now.
